Alaska Airlines Launches Austin-San Jose Service

Restoring direct access from Austin to the heart of Silicon Valley, Alaska Airlines said this week that it has restarted a direct flight between Austin and San Jose, California, in what it bills the "Nerd Bird." Alaska is taking over the route from American Airlines, which stopped its direct service between the two cities a few months ago. According to Alaska, the route is a "natural extension" to its network. The route will included Wi-Fi enabled aircraft catering to the many technology executives commuting between the two cities.
