Active Power Claims Big Win

Austin-based Active Power, a manufacturer of flywheel-based uninterruptible power supplies, claimed today that it has received a multimillion dollar order from one of the world's largest Internet search engine providers. The firm said the win is the second with the un-named customer. Active Power said the deal was for more than 16 megawatts of its CleanSource UPS systems, and will be installed in the United States at one of its customers datacenter facilities.
