GENBAND Selected By Israeli Firm

Plano-based GENBAND, a developer of IP softswitching technology for the telecom industry, said Monday afternoon that it has been selected by HOT Telecom, a cable triple play provider in Israel. GENBAND said that HOT Telecom will use the firm's products to replace its existing, Class 4 softswitches from other vendors. GENBAND said the win comes in conjunction with Israeli systems integrator Bynet Data Communications. Size of the win was not announced by GENBAND. HOT Telecom provides high speed Internet and telephony services in Israel, serving around 700,000 subscribers.
