Microtune Rolls New TV IC
Plano-based Microtune has rolled out a new chip used for digital television designs, the firm said today. According to Microtune, it has introduced a new, RF-to-baseband chip which combines an RF tuner, analog TV demodulator, intermediate frequency (IF) filters, and amplifiers, which supports world analog and digital broadcast standards. The new chip is aimed at inclusion in digital television sets. Microtune said the new, MT3141 chip is available now to early access customers, and will cost $2.00 in high volume.
