CompassLearning Acquired By Private Equity Firm

Austin-based educational software firm CompassLearning has been acquired by Marlin Equity Partners, a private equity firm, the companies said today. The firms said that Marlin acquired CompassLearning from the Reader's Digest Association on January 26th. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. CompassLearning said the move will help the firm by freeing it from the constraints imposed by operating as a subsidiary of a large corporate parent.
