FreeFlight Systems Links With Belgium Firm

Waco-based FreeFlight Systems, a supplier of avionics for the commercial and military aircraft market, reported today that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Belgium firm Septentrio Satellite Navigation. The firm said the partnership covers the development of new GPS/SBAS receivers for the ADS-B, RNP, and LPV application markets. The firm said the move will help it address the need for new autonomous aircraft navigation systems. Financial details of the partnership were not disclosed. The ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast) system is being developed as part of the FAA's Next Generation Air Transportation System; RNP and LPV are additional methods being used for autonomous flight navigation.
