Hotels.com Launches Augmented Reality World
Dallas-based Hotels.com, which operates a online hotel booking site, said today that it has launched an "augmented reality" world as part of its services. The site said it has launched VirtualVacation, a microsite which allows its users to virtually visit the State of Liberty, Las Vegas, and other destinations from their computers. The firm said the microsite will include interactive features actived by webcams and microphones, and allow users to explore local landmarks, and more. The firm said it will be pushing the site with a print advertising campaign starting May 5th.
