Dell Powers OnLive Gaming Service

Round Rock-based Dell said Tuesday that it is powering cloud gaming service OnLive, which launches Thursday. According to Dell, it was in a "major" deployment of its custom-engineered servers for OnLive's cloud-gaming service, making OnLive one of its largest installations of its GPU-powered servers to date. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. Dell said the deployment was designed by its Dell data Center Solutions (DCS) team, and was specifically designed to address the challenge of delivering HD-quality video game and other applications over the Internet.
