Spiceworks Updates IT Management Software

Austin-based Spiceworks said this morning that it has unveiled the latest version of its free IT management application. According to Spiceworks, its 5.0 version of the software now includes features to manage people based on the people using It resources; ability to manage and track purchase lists; a centralized help desk to manage client service requests; and automated backup and restore of network devices. The firm said it now has over 1 million IT professionals using its software. Spiceworks is venture backed by Institutional Venture Partners, Austin Ventures, and Shasta Ventures.
