Bazaarvoice Rolls Out New SEO Technology

Austin-based Bazaarvoice, the provider of ratings and review software for e-commerce sites, said Thursday that it has rolled out a new search engine optimization technology called Smart SEO. The firm said the new technology helps its clients ensure that user genreated content can be crawled and indexed by search engines as "static" content, which helps drive higher placement in search results. Bazaarvoice said the new Smart SEO technology also eliminates the need for complex coding techniques such as iframes and noscript in producing product pages. Static content on the web are files which appear to be "fixed" content, i.e. which are not dynamically generated via a script or query. Traditionally, fixed content has been ranked higher than dynamic content by the search engines, providing better ranking of that content on those engines.
