Infochimps Expands API

Austin-based Infochimps, the provider of an online service for very large data sets, said over the weekend that it has added a number of new, API calls to its service. According to the firm, the new APIs now allow users to access such information as information about people on Twitter, access to the British National Corpus, Qwerly, Wikipedia articles, and IP address demographics. The new API is in beta. Infochimps is backed by DFJ Mercury, MFI Capital, Anduin Ventures and ff Asset Management. Infochimps hosts very large datasets via its service, making it easier for users to access that data in their online services and other software.
