Boeing Gets $92.3M From NASA
Boeing's Space Exploration Division, which is headquartered in Houston, is the recipient of a $92.3M contract going towards developing commercial efforts to deliver astronauts into space, NASA said Monday. According to NASA, Boeing was one of four companies receiving funding from the second round of its Commercial Crew Development (CCDev2) effort. The funding is going to advance commercial crew space transportation system concepts and mature the design and development of elements of their systems, such as launch vehicles and spacecraft. Boeing received the largest share of the grants. NASA is seeking to spur the development of commercial crew delivery efforts, as its phases out the Space Shuttle.
