DOE Gives $2.3M To Texas Biofuels Effort
The Texas Engineering Experiment Station, a biofuels project in College Station, Texas, has scored $2.3M in grants from the Department of Energy. According to the DOE, the Texas Engineering Experiment Station is working on technology for pretreating cellulosic biomass feedstocks, which helps in the conversion of that biomass into biofuels. The grants are part of a bigger, $36M grant award to six biofuels projects around the country. The funds are part of the Obama Administration's efforts to cut foreign oil imports.
