TAOS Merges With Austrian Firm

Plano-based Texas Advanced Optoelectronic Solutions, a supplier of ambient light sensing semiconductors, said today that it has merged its company with austriamicrosystems AG, a designer and manufacturer of analog ICs. austriamicrosystems (AMS) is based in Unterpremstaetten, Austria. TAOS said the deal is worth approximately $320M, with TAOS shareholders receiving cash and stock for roughly 20% of the combined company.
