Luminex Buys EraGen Biosciences

Austin-based Luminex said Tuesday evening that it has agreed to acquire EraGen Biosciences, a developer of molecular diagnostics products. The deal is worth approximately $34M in cash. Luminex said the buy will give it access to a portfolio of molecular diagnostic arrays which are highly complementary to its existing products. EraGen was based in Madison, Wisconsin and had 70 employees. Luminex is a developer of biological testing technology.
