Luminex Completes $77M Nanosphere Acquisition

Austin-based Luminex, which makes scientific equipment, said on Tusday that it has completed its acquisition of b>Nanosphere, in a deal that was worth approximately $77M in cash. The company said the buy will help increase its support, services, and products in the molecular microbiology and diagnostic markets. The company said it expects Nanosphere to contribute between $13M and $16M to its revenues in 2016. Luminex is led by Homi Shamir. Nanosphere was a developer of molecular diagnostics products.
