Venture Fundraising Grows, But Funds Diminish

Dow Jones reports this morning that the amount of venture capital raised by funds in the first half of the year was up 19 percent, however, that funding went to a much smaller number of brand name funds. According to the report, $8.1 billion was raised in the first half by 50 funds. That compared with $6.8 billion raised by 81 venture funds in the first half of 2010.
