LibreDigital Acquired By RR Donnelley

Austin-based LibreDigital, the electronic publishing software tools firm headed by Russ Reeder, has been acquired by publishing giant RR Donnelley, RR Donnelley said Wednesday. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. According to RR Donnelley, the buy wlil help it to extend its supply chain. LibreDigital provides tools which help publishers convert their books, magazines, and newspapers into electronic form, for use on e-readers and other electronic devices. LibreDigital had been venture backed by Adams Capital Management, HarperCollins, Noro-Mosley Partners, S3 Ventures, SSM Venture Funds, and Triangle Peak Partners. The firm had raised somewhere in the range of $40M in venture funding.
