LibreDigital Buys Product Line From HarperCollins
Austin-based LibreDigital said this morning that it has acquired the Symtio e-commerce platform from Zondervan, which is a unit of HarperCollins. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Symtio operates an online platform which allows customers to purchase e-books, audiobooks, music, and video both online and through retail stores. According to LibreDigital, the acquisition will give it access to Symtio e-commerce technology, existing e-commerce contracts and applications, and key e-commerce staff. Symtio's retail card business is not included as part of the deal. HarperCollins is one of LibreDigital's financial backers, which also include Adams Capital Management, Triangle Peak Partners, S3 Ventures, and Noro-Moseley Partners. LibreDigital develops technology and services that helps book and other publishers publish electronic books.
