Wisegate Launches Business Networking Site

Austin-based startup Wisegate said today that it has launched a new, social networking site for business professionals today, specifically focused on senior IT professionals. The firm, is headed by Sara Gates, said its efforts are being funded by Trellis Partners, which invested in a round of seed funding for the firm in December of 2010. According to the firm, it is creating invitation-only "micro-communities" focused on exchanging information about challenges, industry trends, products, and vendors. Wisegate said its initial focus is on information security, identity & access management, data security, mobile security and privacy. The firm is charging companies $1000 a year for access to its site.
