Sipera Acquired By Avaya

Richardson-based Sipera Systems, the developer of unified communications products, has been acquired by Avaya, Avaya said Tuesday. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Avaya said it will make Sipera a fully integrated par of the company, strengthening the company's unified communications portfolio. Sipera's products are used for providing security and managing unified communications sytsems. Sipera is venture backed by S3 Ventures, Austin Ventures, Duchossois Technology Partners, Sequoia Capital, and STAR Ventures. The firm had raised north of $40M in funding over its lifetime.
