CyrusOne Buys Building In West Houston
Houston-based CyrusOne, the data center and colocation operator which is part of Cincinnati Bell, reported today that it has acquired its 175,000 square foot Houston West site. The firm said the buy included both its LEED Silver building and its new data center, which is under construction. Size of the transaction was not announced. CyrusOne said the move is part of a strategy to purchase more land, as it has invested over $100M in capital in its facilities over the past 12 months. The data center operator said it has already purchased 60 acres of land in Phoenix, 116 acres in Ohio, and is looking elsewhere for other opportunities. CyrusOne said purchasing its buildings gives its customers reassurance that they can continue to stay in a location for many years, and also streamlines customer requests by eliminating needing to deal with a landlord for customer changes.
