HomeAway's Sharples Lands On Kayak Board

Brian Sharples, the founder and CEO of Austin's HomeAway, has landed on the board of directors of travel site KAYAK. Kayak, which has been eyeing an IPO, appears to be looking to Sharples to lend his experience from successfully taking HomeAway public in June of last year. Sharples is also on the board of WhaleShark Media. Kayak, which operates an online travel search and booking site, filed its S-1 in late 2010, and has been rumored to be moving closer to an actual offering in the last couple of months.
