CyrusOne Plans 700,000 Sq. Ft. DFW Data Center
Houston-based CyrusOne, the colocation provider which is a part of Cincinnati Bell, reported this morning that it is planning what it says will be the largest data center facility in the state. CyrusOne said it is acquiring a data center facility with 700,000 square feet of space under one roof, on a 30-acre parcel of land in a suburb north of Dallas. The firm claims that the facility will also be one of the largest data centers in the country. When built out, CyrusOne said it will have 400,000 square feet of raised floor data center space, and approximately 60,000 square feet of class A office space; the firm did not say what the remainder of the facility would be used for. Among other features, CyrusOne said it has a goal of making the new facility Platinum LEED certified. CyrusOne has been making major expansions in Texas in the last few months, having acquired a 175,000 square foot facility in Houston in November, and a 200,000 square foot facility in San Antonio in December.
