Crossroads Inks Deal With Fujitsu
Austin-based Crossroads Systems, the developer of data protection hardware and software, reports today that it has inked a deal with Fujitsu Frontech North America. According to the two, they are selling a branded, Fujitsu-Crossroads product called the StrongBox, a data storage appliance which uses Fujitsu's storage and server products to store tape archives. The appliance lets IT managers mount tape as a standard, network attached storage (NAS) target presenting CIFS and NFS shares. The use of the product allows for backup of data to LTO tape drives, without requiring special agents or backup software. Financial details of the deal between the companies were not disclosed.
