California Firm Acquires Dallas Data Center
Digital Realty Trust, a San Francisco-based data center operator, said Thursday that it has acquired a 269,600 square foot data center in Dallas. The firm, which operates data centers internationally, said the property at The DataBank Building is already 85 percent leased to eight tenants. Digital Realty Trust already has two other Dallas facilities. The facility is located at 400 South Akard Street. The DataBank is located in the historic Dallas Federal Reserve Building, which in 2000 was renovated to become a telecom and technology hub, turning the secure facilities of the building to new uses; the Federal Reserve Building is a Dallas City landmark and considered one of the city's architecturally significant buildings.
