SpareFoot Launches School Supply Charity Campaign
Austin-based SpareFoot, the online service headed by Chuck Gordon which helps connect people with self storage facilities, has launched a new, social media charity campaign aimed at helping to keep kids from dropping out of school. SpareFoot said that it is trading Facebook shares and Tweets, in exchange for donating school supplies to Central Texas charity Communities In Schools. SpareFoot said that it will donate $3 worth of basic school supplies--notebook, pens, pencils, paper, an eraser, and a ruler--for every memory its users share on Facebook or Twitter. Sparefoot said the supplies from its Supply Memories campaign go towards at-risk kids via Communities In Schools.
