Gazzang Aims At Healthcare

Austin-based Gazzang is targeting the healthcare sector with it software, saying today that it has launched anew product specifically aimed at securing healthcare information and for maintaining HIPAA compliance. Gazzang said its new product, zNcrypt for Health Care, specifically provides data encryption and key management for health information compliance. The company said the product is aimed at hospitals, clinics, insurance providers and other organizations that handle sensitive patient data. Gazzang is a developer of encryption and key management software for open source databases; the firm is backed by Austin Ventures and Silver Creek Ventures.
