Gazzang Trumpets Revenue Growth, Doubles Staff
Austin-based Gazzang, the developer of cloud-based, data security and encryption tools, reported it had revenue growth of more than 250 percent year to year today--although the company did not announce any specifics of its finances. However, the startup--led by serial entrepreneur Larry Warnock--said it doubled its employees during 2013 as a result of that growth. Gazzang's software is used to help encrypt data in cloud-based, open source databases, which is a big requirement for enterprise customers. The company said it is seeing a large number of enterprise customer wins from healthcare products firms, industrial equipment, insurance, and other customers. Gazzang is venture backed by Austin Ventures and Silver Creek Ventures.
