Gazzang In Growth Mode, Doubles Revenue
Austin-based Gazzang, the provider of data encryption tools for cloud-based databases, says it is in growth mode, and has doubled its revenue in the first half of 2013, compared with 2012, plus has increased its employee headcount 50 percent during the first half of the year. The startup, which is privately held, did not disclose any actual revenue numbers. Gazzang said that the second quarter was its strongest quarter to date. Gazzang is led by startup veteran Larry Warnock. Gazzang said the growth comes from strong sales to new customers, including an un-named Fortune 500 financial services companies, a semiconductor company, an insurance, annuities, and benefits programs provider, and others. Gazzang is venture backed by Austin Ventures and Silver Creek Ventures.
