Platform Houston Sets Up Startup Incubation Space
A new effort to spur growth in the Houston startup community, Platform Houston, has just launched, in hopes of providing a "community campus" for local startups. The new effort, started by Simrit Parmar and Emily Yau, apparently have just leased 10,000 square feet across from Rice University to house founding teams and startup businesses. The new effort looks to also invest up to $10,000 in exchange for 6 percent equity to promising startups usingits location. Parmar is a physician and assistant professor of medicine at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
