CoreTrace Acquired By Lumension
Austin-based security software developer CoreTrace has been acquired in an asset deal, according to buyer Lumension. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced by the companies. CoreTrace provides security software used to secure systems at the application level, by allowing administrators to "whitelist" apps. Lumension is a provider of endpoint management and security tools which is based in Scottsdale, Arizona. Lumension said it would add "key development staff" to its organization as part of the buy, but did not say what would happen with CoreTrace's Austin operations. CoreTrace was venture backed by GlobalScape, Hunt Ventures, and Venrock Associates.
