Airband Expands In Orlando
Dallas-based fixed wireless voice and data services provider Airband Communications said this morning that it has expanded its network to Orlando, Florida, to help serve the hospitality market. According to Airband, its fixed-wireless network is aimed at the more than 450 hotels in Orlando, to help meet the Internet needs of conventions, business travelers, and tourists. Airband said it is initially deploying to cover around 5,000 hotel rooms in the area. Airband offers up fixed-wireless connections to the Internet, competing primarily with broadband services from phone companies and cable operators. The company says it now served 17 markets in the U.S.
