Bloomfire Raises $8M More For Social Enterprise Tools
Austin-based Bloomfire, the startup headed by Craig Malloy which develops enterprise, social knowledge sharing software, has raised $8M more in a funding round, the firm said today. The funding came from Austin Ventures and Redpoint Ventures. According to the company, the funding brings its total raised to $18M, and will go towards bolstering its go-to-market strategy, as well as to scale engineering, sales, and marketing teams.
Bloomfire's platform revolves around making it easier for enterprise workforces to share information in a social way. Malloy is the former co-founder and CEO of LifeSize Communications, which he sold to Logitech in 2009. Malloy said that Bloomfire is looking to fill the gaps left by the first wave of social collaboration and content management platforms.
