Rackspace Launches Cloud Education Effort

Do you know how to launch and manage a cloud-based application? Rackspace, the cloud-based hosting and services firm, think you should--and is looking to help educate people on the skills needed for the cloud. According to the company, it has launched a brand new training program it is calling The Open Cloud Academy, which will help educate IT professionals in open cloud technologies. The firm said the new effort will provide IT certification specifically around open cloud technology--undoubtedly, including its own OpenStack efforts--with a specific aim at former military and university graduates. Rackspace says it hopes to tap some of those graduates for its own employee needs, to fill what is says are a "countless number of roles" in San Antonio and beyond.
