Active-Semi Raises $7M For Power Semiconductors
Dallas-based Active-Semi, a developer of semiconductor power management components, has raised $7M in a new funding round, plus added a strategic investor. Active-Semi said it raised $7M in a new round of funding, which was led by strategic investor LG Electronics, and also included U.S. Venture Partners, Tenaya Capital and others. The company said the funding will go towards the development of its power semiconductors, specifically for LG Electronics line of products. Active Semi's power management ICs are used to manage the power consumption in consumer electronics and other electronic designs; those ICs have become more important as companies have started to focus on better power consumption and smart appliances.
