AT&T Buys Leap Wireless For $1.2 Billion

Dallas-based AT&T said late Friday that it is acquiring Leap Wireless, the operator of the prepaid wireless service Cricket, in a deal worth $1.2 billion. According to AT&T, it will pay $15 per share in cash for Leap. At&T will continue to operate the Cricket branded prepaid wireless service as part of the acquisition.
