AT&T Completes Leap Wireless Buy
Dallas-based AT&T said late Thurday that it has completed its acquisition of Leap Wireless International, which operates the prepaid wireless service Cricket. The deal was worth $15 per share in cash, or approximately $1.2 billion, and had originally been an announced in July of 2013. AT&T said it will use the new acquisition to "shake up" the no contract market with new, simple, low-cost rate plans.
