GENBAND Buys fring
Frisco-based GENBAND said late last night that it has acquired fring, a developer of mobile, IP communications services which runs on smartphones. Financial terms of the acquisition wer enot announced. GENBAND said it will use the acquisition to expand its white-label, cloud services to service providers. Fring's service provides free mobile group video chat, 2-way video chat, voice calls and texts, and more. Fring was based in Israel, and its apps run on Android and iOS smartphones. GENBAND says it plans to offer up Fring's technology on a white label basis to fixed service providers and MSOs.
