Compass Datacenters Gets LEED Gold Certification On Data Center
Dallas-based datacenter operator Compass Datacenters reported Wednesday that one of its data centers--in Raleigh-Durham--has received LEED Gold certification. According to Compass Datacenters, the certification covers its new 22,000 square foot data center facility in the Raleigh-Durham area, meeting the standards for materials use, water use, energy efficiency and other sustainability criteria of the architectural standard. LEED issues guidelines for creating sustainable buildings, and offers up certification of buildings that meet its criteria. The highest level of certification for the group is LEED Platinum, followed by Gold, Silver, and Certified levels, which are all rated by a point system based on sustainability features.
