sonarDesign Launches Cross Platform Development Software

Austin-based Sonar Design said today that it has launched a beta of its first product, Sonar, which is a browser-based product for creating cross-platform, mobile and desktop apps. According to the startup--which was founded by Jerry Bowerman and John Talley, its "micro-app" development platform is aimed at creative professionals, to help them create things like presentations, photo scrapbooks, instructional materials, and more. The software is aimed at creative pros with or without software development experience, and also includes real-time user analytics. The company said its software is based on HTML5, and does not require any plug-ins like Flash.
