RadioShack's Super Bowl Ad Highlights Store Changeover
Fort Worth-based electronics retailer Radio Shack has been in the midst of a major store format refresh over the last few months--and it wants consumers to step inside and take a look. To that end, the retailer debuted a new television commercial last night during the Super Bowl, making fun of itself by having a host of 1980's pop icons "take back the 80's" from its stores. The commercial included Hulk Hogan, Mary Lou Retton, Alf, the California Raisins, one of the ghosts from Ghostbuster's, and many other 1980's icons. Notably missing again from the Super Bowl commercial lineup this year was Austin's HomeAway, which ran significant campaigns in 2010 and 2011 during the sporting event.
