RadioShack To Shut 500 Stores, Says Report

The 80's may have called to take back their stuff in the popular Super Bowl ad for RadioShack which debuted over the weekend -- but apparently, they're also taking a bunch of stores with them. RadioShack is reportedly closing 500 stores -- out of roughly 4,500 stores in operation -- as part of a restructuring move. The news came via the WSJ, which cited "people familiar with the matter". RadioShack has not yet issued any statement around the plans to shut the stores. RadioShack has been in the midst of a massive revamp of its stores, looking to shed a stodgy image and attract new retail customers.
