Websense Moves Headquarters To Austin
websense, a developer of security software, said Friday that it is officially moving its corporate headquarters to Austin, and will create 470 jobs and invest $9.935M in its new headquarters in the city. The deal--which has been in the works for months--comes via an effort run by The Austin Chamber of Commerce, the City of Austin and Opportunity Austin, as well as the State of Texas, to attract Websense to move its headquarters to the state. Texas had earlier announced a $4.5M Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) grant to help convince Websense to relocate its headquarters, which are currently in San Diego, California. The Austin Chamber of Commerce said the move will help bolster the number of computer security-related copanies in Austin, which already counts such companies as Absolute Software, Click Security, Gazzang, Quarri Technologies, and SolarWinds.
