ECi Software Acquired By The Carlyle Group

Fort Worth-based ECi Software Solutions said Wednesday that it has been acquired by private equity investor The Carlyle Group. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. ECi Software Solutions is a developer of e-commerce software for midsize and other businesses, in verticals such as office products, office furniture, lumber and building materials, hardware, and more. ECi Software is led by Ron Books. Carlyle said the investment came from its Carlyle U.S. Equity Opportunity Fund, the company's middle market investment fund. ECi was advised by Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP and Harris Williams & Co. in the deal; Carlyle was advised by Latham & Watkins LLP and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
