Nexstar Broadcasting Buys Digital Publishing Software Developer
Irving, Texas-based Nexstar Broadcasting Group--which owns, operates, programs or provides sales and other services to 74 television stations--said today that it is buying a digital publishing platform and digital agency, Internet Broadcasting Systems. The deal is worth $20.0M. Internet Broadcasting Systems develops software-as-a-service, digital publishing products, including a content management system, news and content syndication, digital agency services, and more. The company's clients include Hearts Television and Post-Newsweek stations. Nexstar said the buy will help bolster its digital media portfolio with technology complimentary to its existing business. Internet Broadcasting will operate as a separate division of Nexstar.
