Dell Buys StatSoft For Big Data Software

Round Rock-based Dell said late Monday that it has acquired StatSoft, a developer of software analytics products aimed at data mining, predictive analytics and data visualization. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. StatSoft was based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was founded in 1984. Dell said the move would help bolster Dell Software, its software arm.
