AMX Acquired by HARMAN For $365M
Richardson, Texas-based AMX, a developer of enterprise control and automation systems, has been acquired by audio and entertainment hardware provider HARMAN, in a deal worth $365M, the companies announced this morning. According to the companies, AMX will become part of HARMAN's professional division, which owns such well known brands as JBL, dbx, AKG Acoustics, Soundcraft, and Lexicon. AMX had previously been owned by THe Duchossois Group. AMX was founded in 1982, and has more than 600 employees.
