Compucom Adds VMware's Desktop-as-a-Service

Dallas-based technology outsourcer and services provider CompuCom said this morning that it has launched a new, desktop-as-a-service offering, which lets companies deploy cloud-based, hosted desktops. CompuCom said it is tapping VMWare Horizon DaaS, VMware's desktop-as-a-service software, for the offering. The new product is aimed at enterprise customers, who use virtual desktops to make it easier to manage and deploy desktop software images to their employees--without being tied to a specific piece of desktop hardware. CompuCom is an existing VMware partner. Pricing on the new service was not announced.
