Q2 Heads To Local Arcade To Recruit Talent
In an unusual move, Austin-based secure banking software developer Q2 is holding a recruiting event at the Pinballz Arcade tonight, in an attempt to attract young, future employees to the growing company. According to Q2, it is also partnering with Teddy McDaniel, affiliate CEO of Austin Area Urban League (AAUL), and Edmund Oropez, associate superintendent of high schools for Austin Independent School District (AISD) at the event, in a hope to attract younger talent interested in a career in technology. Q2 said it is hoping to reach under-served Austin-area residents and mid-career individuals seeking a new direction with the recruiting effort, explaining that it wants to bring on new employees through a program called Project R, which is an temp-to-hire program that provides employees with extensive on-the-job training to help them begin a career in software development.
